This news marks a major milestone in the community-led initiative tied to the project and the committee thanks the artists and voting public for their participation. Read more here.
Work is continuing steadily across the site, with solar panel installation occurring alongside the remaining pile installation. Crews are also progressing on electrical work, connecting wiring from the field to the inverters that will support energy generation. In addition, improvements are being made to on-site roadways, including cement stabilization, to help minimize track-out and keep nearby public roads clean as construction advances.

Monarch Solar in Brunswick County, Virginia
Monarch Solar is sited on a remote parcel of land with existing natural buffers. No prime farmland will be used and the design of the project incorporates wildlife corridors throughout, encouraging the natural habitat to thrive when construction is completed. The solar facility will be located in Brunswick County and interconnected to an existing Dominion transmission line in Greensville County.
