Foxglove Solar in Frederick County, Virginia

Foxglove Solar

in Frederick County, Virginia

Foxglove Solar is a world-class, 75 MWAC clean power facility now under construction in Frederick County in partnership with Woodbine Farms. The facility is planned to begin operations in late 2024. Foxglove Solar will provide economic and energy value to the people of Frederick County for decades into the future.

Benefits

What does this project mean for you and your community?

LOCAL ECONOMIC IMPACT

Foxglove Solar will support Frederick County with millions of dollars in tax revenue over its operational life without encumbering the surrounding areas with expensive new infrastructure, traffic congestion or costly public services. Further, during construction, the project will require hundreds of workers on site, which will provide an economic boost to area businesses and service providers.

LOCALLY GENERATED CLEAN ENERGY

The path to America's goal of utilizing 100 percent renewable energy sources by 2050 is paved by projects such as Foxglove Solar. We can help grow a robust and diverse energy portfolio as a nation by working together with the people and businesses of our communities, which will reduce our need for outsourced fossil fuels and empower local economies.

Land Restoration and protection

Commitment to and respect for the land we're occupying for the project's lifetime is a top priority for Urban Grid. The land underneath our project will be primed and ready for agricultural use as soon as the project is decommissioned 35 years from the start of its operation. In the meantime, the ecosystem will be supported by natural buffer zones, planting of pollinators, preservation of wildlife corridors, and other nature-centric characteristics of the project.
