The Sr. Economic Development Manager is a seasoned leader with experience in local community engagement activities relating to renewable energy. Reporting to the VP, Economic & Community Development, this individual will work to ensure that local government officials, key influencers and stakeholders are well informed of the economic benefits a utility-scale solar facility will bring to a rural community. The position supports numerous teams throughout the organization including land, project development and permitting. As part of the community engagement team, the Sr. Economic Development Manager will work to shepherd our projects through a successful permitting process.

Urban Grid is actively seeking an experienced HSSE Director responsible for ensuring the safe and sustainable operation of utility-scale solar development projects in the construction phase and subsequent long-term ownership and operation. This position will be crucial in ensuring the successful completion of the project by being proactive in risk identification and mitigation, engaging with the project contracted EPC HSSE leads and EPC company HSSE organization, and providing timely response and remediation of incidents across each project. This role will also involve developing, implementing, and maintaining HSSE policies and procedures, conducting risk assessments, and promoting a culture of safety, security, and environmental stewardship internal to Urban Grid and coordinating with external parties to ensure the best HSSE practices and Parent Company standards are being met.

The successful candidate will have industry experience, a background providing commercial, or origination support associated with utility or corporate transactions for solar or renewable energy projects. The candidate will be a self-managed team-player with excellent communication & writing skills, attention to detail and has the ability to effectively manage or support a wide range of task that an Independent Power Producer (IPP) is involved with. The candidate will support Urban Grid’s Commercial Origination activities and may change over time as the company expands. This role will be an important position involved with all aspects of proposal development, commercialization of utility scale projects and close coordination with other internal teams and processes. This role will require coordination with internal/external resources and clients, supporting various task required to develop a proposal, obtain internal governance and approvals required to advance the transaction forward.
