Urban Grid takes great care when coordinating green construction as well conventional construction projects. We consistently encourage our clients to take a green approach to building by considering the use of low and/or zero VOC paints and coatings, rapidly renewable materials, reclaimed woods and metals, as well as energy efficient appliances and fixtures. Our designer will assist you in choosing the proper materials for your next green project. Our construction team will, in turn, take care of waste management including recycling or donating leftover construction debris. Not only do our re-use efforts alleviate waste in landfills, but it also provides our clients with an additional tax deduction.

Our company also specializes in LEED projects, so we will help coordinate and document your project to the very end. Right now, we have helped certify a LEED Gold residence in the Fan district, and what will be the first LEED Platinum winery in Virginia. All of our vendors/subcontractors are participants in the LEED process and aid in keeping accurate records of all materials, recyclables, and orders.

We are a Class "A" general contractor and offer full scale construction services including new construction and remodeling for residential and small commercial structures. We provide numerous services with in house employees and several others through qualified sub-contractors. All of our workers have completed an OSHA 10-hour training course, are drug-free, and receive regular job safety training.

In addition to general contracting services, Urban Grid offers in house design services with a specialty in interior design. We provide everything from conceptual desgin development drawings to construction documents. We also offer digital 3D modeling which allows clients to see the final product before construction, and ultimately saves time and money for both parties by limiting the need for change orders.
